Coil Length Calculator

Estimate running meters per ton from thickness and width. Also shows inches, feet, and how many 8 ft or 10 ft sheets you get from 1 ton.

Default 7.85 for carbon steel. Edit for other materials (e.g. stainless ≈ 7.9–8.0).

Result

Enter thickness, width, and density, then press Calculate.

Results will appear here.

Calculations are approximate and based on the entered material density. Actual results may vary slightly depending on material composition and manufacturing tolerances.

How it works

For every 1 ton of steel, divide 1,000,000 by thickness × width × density. That gives you the coil length in meters.

Formula

Meters per ton=1,000,000Thickness × Width × Density
  • Thickness coil thickness in mm
  • Width coil width in mm
  • Density usually 7.85 for steel (g/cm³)
